Our trusty Verizon source has given us a little bit of info that might get you Motorola Droid owners excited. We already know that the original Droid will be getting Android 2.2 , or Froyo, next week , but we’re hearing that the roll-out actually begins on Monday, August 2. Right now, we’re taking this with a grain of salt as our source was pretty confident with this date, but couldn’t give us the 100% assertion we needed....

Nokia seems to be working on another low-end all-touchscreen device – Nokia 5250. The image above was taken from the Ovi Store , where such a device is one of the choices offered. We’ve no idea what’s Nokia 5250 all about. I would assume it relies on Symbian^1 with S60 5th Edition running on top of it. In other words, just like the Nokia N97 , N97 mini , 5800 XM , 5230 …  Read More →

A picture of a new BlackBerry running OS 6 has bubbled up, potentially joining the ranks of the 9800 slider , the 9670 clamshell , and the Storm 3 in RIM’s upcoming lineup. The 9780 could easily round out RIM’s introduction of their next generation operating system with a more traditional form factor. As far as hard specs go, we hear the BlackBerry 9780 will have 512 MB of memory, but that’s about it. It looks nearly identical...

If you relax your eyes and squint a bit while staring at this leaked slide, first you’ll see a 3D sailboat, then you’ll see a short spec list including BlackBerry OS 6 and the new Webkit browser, 512 MB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera, world roaming capabilities, and Wi-Fi 802.11n with mobile hotspot capability. Unfortunately,...

Whether you agree think the Apple iPad is really magical or not, its success so far has been pretty astounding. Apple managed to sell 3 million units during its first 80 days and plenty of stores are still sold out and doing pre-orders only. However, there’s a rumor that Apple is already working on the next generation iPad – two of them, in fact. One model is said to be a 5.6-inch display version and the other a 7-inch version, both...

Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar is claiming that the upcoming BlackBerry tablet will include two cameras, one rear-facing and one forward-facing for video calling. To power such graphically intensive activity, Kumar says the tablet will use a 1 GHz processor, which would be the first time RIM used something that fast. He also claimed the display will be 7″, as opposed to the originally-reported 8.9″ . The tablet, code-named...

Telus is testing the INQ Chat 3G, the BREW phone out of the UK with heavy social networking angle. By and large, it’s a dumbphone with well-tailored preloaded software, but my contact said he hates the thing. It’s actually kind of too bad that Telus decided to ruin the INQ brand name in Canada with a year-old BREW phone, when they could have just held out for the Android handset due to land in Q4 and made a grand entrance…  Read More →

The iPhone 4 that was released this week has been plagued by reception drop-offs if the phone is held a certain way (a.k.a the Death Grip), likely due to the antennae assembly wrapping around the device. While that seems like it’s primarily a hardware issue, others had found that their older iPhones that had updated to iOS 4 had the same problem , potentially that there’s nothing necessarily wrong with the iPhone 4′s inherent...
